THE FOUNDER PRINCIPAL



The director was born and brought up in rural surroundings in the Sitapur District of Uttar Pradesh. He passed the High School Examination of U.P. Board of High School and Intermediate Education with a First Division and topped the list of students matriculating that year from M.D. Intermediate College, Misrikh, Sitapur. His performance earned him a merit scholarship.
In 1968, he Graduated in Law from the Lucknow University, his name figuring in the merit list. He stood first in order of merit in the Ist Year of Master of Laws examination and was Iind in order of merit in the final year examination in 1971. After earning the LL.M. Degree from the Lucknow University, he chose to be a teacher and joined the Banaras Hindu University. In 1973, he joined the Jai Narain (P.G.) College (K.K.C.) Lucknow as a lecturer in Law.
His zeal for higher studies took him to London in 1975, where he worked as a Research Scholar at the University of London (S.O.A.S.) for the fall term. In 1979-80, he joined the Osgoode Hall Law School of the York University of Toronto, Canada and offered courses in Jurisprudence and Legal Education for D. Jur. Degree.
After returning to India he was instrumental in establishment of Gandhi Degree College at Sidhauli (Sitapur) and was its founder-principal. He continued his research programme for which he was awarded the Ph.D. degree in Law by the Kurukshetra University. His thesis titled “Right of Private-Defence in the Law of Crime with particular reference to India” was very much appreciated and was published by the Indian Council of Social Science Research, New Delhi in the book form entitled “Law of Crime and Self-Defence”.
Consequent upon his Superannuation from the post of Associate Professor of Law (Reader) at the Jai Narain (P.G.) College, Lucknow, he was assigned a major Research Project entitled ”Modern Trends in the Aetiology of Crime – a Socio-Legal Study of life-convicts in the Central Jails of Uttar Pradesh” for a period of three years duration by the University Grants Commission, New Delhi, which was successfully completed in time.
Besides attending a number of conferences and symposia in Law he has also contributed several articles in different reputed law journals and published two monumental book i.e. (I) Law of Crime and Self Defence, and (II) Glimpses of Jurisprudence. He has worked as founder principal of Heera Lal Yadav Balika Degree College. Presently the Director is the principal, Heera Lal Yadav Law College, Sarojini Nagar, Lucknow.
He is a man of erudition and immensely popular among his colleagues and pupils. His achievements reflect the proverb “Where there is a will there is a way”.
